Suji ka upma recipe





1 cup rava (semolina)
2 tablespoons urad dal (without peel) or gram lentils
1 onion finely chopped
2 green chillies finely chopped
1/2 cup finely chopped capsicum (if desired)
1 tablespoon Roasted Peanuts (if desired)
1/2 teaspoon finely chopped ginger
1/2 cup carrots peeled and chopped
1/2 cup green peas
1/2 teaspoon mustard
5-6 curry leaves
5,7 cashews
1 teaspoon / salt as per taste

Heat the oil in a pan on the gas. Add the tempering of mustard and curry leaves.
Now add urad / gram dal and fry it on medium flame for one minute.
After this, add roasted onion and ginger until cashew is also golden. Cook till the onions turn golden.
   
Now add peas, carrots, capsicum, peanuts, green chilies and salt. Cover the pan and cook the vegetables on medium heat for 5 minutes. Then add water to the pan. Now add rava (semolina) and cook it on medium flame.
